My name is Andrea Thiel and I am a qualified teacher for German as a Foreign Language.
My interest in teaching German as a Foreign Language started in my early twenties when I lived as an au pair in London. I enjoyed living in this multicultural city and making friends from all over the world. Since then I have always been interested in other cultures and I wanted to follow a professional career, which would give me the opportunity to get in contact with people from different countries. This has always been an inspiration and motivation to me.
In my free time I like taking photos (Instagram: theresa_6789) and I am interested in yoga and astrology.
Experience & Qualifications
After studying economics in Frankfurt/Main, I acquired the additional qualification "Methodology and Didactics of Teaching German as a Foreign Language" at the Goethe-Institut in Munich. I taught German as a Foreign Language at Volkshochschule in Wiesbaden for several years and at a language school in Frankfurt/Main. I regularly take part in further training to familiarize myself with new modern teaching methods. I also have the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.
I teach German online via Zoom in one-on-one meetings as well as in small groups from absolute beginners to advanced.
In my classes I make use of all the modern technologies that are available for learning the German language online in the most effective way. Interactive exercises are an integral element of my lessons.
Nonetheless it is important to me to provide and support a respectful and pleasant learning environment to study German successfully.
